International Photography Competition

 Subject Title “Planet Women”

Local prize: an exhibition at  the Alliances Françaises of Jo’burg and P.E

International prize: a trip to Paris for a week plus a solo exhibition

 Rules and Conditions of Entry

1. Only Amateur photographers may enter (no one who has sold work or been paid to do work).
2. No restriction on age.
3. The aim is to photograph anything which, in your culture, represents women. Pictures must be totally new, original and unpublished.
4. All rights must be given exclusively to the Alliance Française Foundation for the duration of the competition (24months from final results onwards).
5. There must be a signed agreement from the person(s) represented in the photo . This agreement must accompanying the entry form.
6. Nothing that has copyright must be represented in the photo eg, alcohol, tobacco,buildings,objects of copyright (designer clothes, pieces of furniture, street works of art or furniture).
7. Two photographs must be submitted – digital JPEG file – with resolution 3500 x 4700 and 300 dpi. Note that for the pre-selection you will have to submit the 2 pictures with following specificities: Digital JPEG file – 1 Mo max with resolution 1500 x 2100 pixels and 72 dpi max.
8. Final selection:  Deadline for entry 16:00, September 9^th 2011 – no late entries accepted.
9. Submit to the Alliance Francaise, 17 Mackay Street, Richmond Hill, Port Elizabeth 6001, aurelie.biewesch@afvp-vp.org.
10. The winner selected from Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth will go forward for selection in Paris – A jury will select 40 x works for a joint exhibition at a designated Parisian Gallery – from these 40xworks, the winner will be selected by the Foundation Alliance Francaise.
11. The 10 runners-up in Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth will be invited for a joint exhibition at the Alliances Francaises of Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
12. Local results will be emailed on September 13^th 2011
